Fifty Shades of Grey at Home

{Fifty Shades of Grey, Thanks to Mother Nature}

The Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy is certainly THE book series of the moment, and I couldn’t help but dig into the many shades of grey that have been incorporated at the home front. Somehow, grey can seem both rich and subdued (ooh la la – so mysterious), and oozes quiet luxury. Enjoy the many forms and tones grey can take:

Springtime Softness

With spring in full swing, and Easter coming up this weekend, a sweet pastel post was begging to be explored!

You can’t possibly look at pastel images and not have a warm and fuzzy feeling. When pastels are introduced into an interior, the colors certainly catch the eye and provide a soothing experience. And I must add that there is a certain elegance to having softer colors in your spaces. Do you agree? See for yourself:

Scenes from a Getaway

Sometimes, a quick weekend getaway is all you need to revive and stay inspired. A short trip to La Jolla, CA proved to be just that this past weekend. La Jolla is a hilly seaside resort-like community with lots of charm and much to feast your eyes on. With my trusty iPhone Instagram app, I was able to capture some beautiful scenes to enjoy long after I’ve left the peace and calm of L.J.

Here are some of my favorite sights:

Work It With Wallpaper

If walls could actually talk, they probably wouldn’t divulge scandalous secrets – instead, they would probably tell you to dress them up with wallpaper! Introducing wall covering to a space can be a great way to add color + warmth, and create an extra interesting visual layer to any room.

While there are MANY amazing colorful and tone-on-tone patterned wallpaper, using just a solid color textured wallpaper can be a great option, too {see grass cloth wall covering by Phillip Jeffries below}.

Something to keep in mind: applying wallpaper to even one wall can create a nice backdrop and transform a room.

Hooray for Headboards

{Simple + Serene Wing-Back Headboard}

A beautiful upholstered headboard can serve a few different purposes: it can act as a great backrest while you read or work in bed, can give a sense of protection and of being enveloped while you rest, and of course be a visually stand out piece amongst your collection of bedroom furniture.

What I like most about the idea and look of an upholstered headboard is that it gives a sense of soft + cozy to a bedroom. With many shapes, styles and fabrics to choose from, the possibilities are truly endless!
